n 2001, International Association of Sports Information and the International Olympic Committee through its NOC Relations Department, have agreed to initiate a joint project to develop an electronic World Directory of Centres of Expertise.

This database of sport libraries, documentation centres and sport collections contains details of the each institution's subject strengths and sport information expertise. This database provides access by geographical region, by country or name of the library/documentation centre.

This project was coordinated by INSEP with the help of the Olympic Studies Centres of Lausanne and Barcelona, on behalf of IASI and IOC.

The World Directory of Sports Information Centres and Experts will be continually updated. Sport libraries and documentation centres not represented in this Directory are cordially invited to add the information on their collections and services.
